Serve Ethiopians Washington (SEW) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit established during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic for the specific and primary purpose of reducing the negative health, social, and economic impacts of COVID-19 on Ethiopian and other East African refugee and immigrant communities in King County.
In response to the changing needs in our communities following the lessening impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have broadened the scope of our programs to encompass a range of community needs. We recognize the importance of addressing these pressing issues to foster holistic well-being and resilience among individuals and families. Our programs now include the following key areas: Basic Needs Resources for Children and Families, Youth Development, Workforce Development, Environmental Protection and Sustainability, and Social Programs for Seniors.
At Serve Ethiopian Washington, we take pride in our collaborative partnerships. Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with numerous esteemed partners, and we continue to foster these relationships. We are also excited to welcome new partners into our network. Since its establishment, SEW has been honored to receive grants from a range of entities, including King County, the City of Seattle, the Port of Seattle, HealthierHere, and other generous donors. These grants and support have played a vital role in supporting our mission and enabling us to make a positive impact in our community.
