King County
The Community Service Areas program informs, involves, and empowers people and communities in unincorporated King County by…
Expanding outreach and communication to a wide range of community organizations.
Identifying a county employee who will serve as a liaison, public advocate, and information clearinghouse for each Community Service Area.
Providing resources to communities in unincorporated areas through the Alan Painter Grant Program,
which offers matching funds for community-led projects through a yearly grant application process for community organizations.
King County Parks
King County Parks has evolved from 150 acres in 1938 to more than 28,000 acres today. Our mission is to steward, enhance and acquire parks to inspire healthy communities.
Today, our system consists of more than 205 parks, 175 miles of regional trails, and 215 miles of backcountry trails. From regional treasures such as Marymoor Park and Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park to amenities such as athletic fields, regional trails, and pools, there is something for everyone in King County Parks.
We hope you enjoy your adventure in King County's award-winning parks - Your Big Backyard!
King County Waterworks
The WaterWorks Grant Program provides approximately $5 million in funding every two years to organizations carrying out a variety of water quality improvement projects in the service area for King County's regional wastewater system.
Communities of Opportunity
Being housed, healthy, employed, and connected to one's community are basic human needs. Yet from neighborhood to neighborhood, access to these essentials vary widely. Race, income, and zip code are major predictors of how healthy we are and even how long we live.
Low-income communities and communities of color regularly experience institutional racism in the form of decisions being made for them, and of having their voices, priorities, and strengths disregarded. Communities of Opportunity believes the most meaningful, just, and sustainable solutions are generated in partnership with communities -- who know what they need to be healthy and thrive. COO is dedicated to changing the systems, policies and environments that create and reinforce these disparities and towards creating a vibrant, equitable King County where everyone thrives regardless of race or place.
COO believes that investing in strategies that build community power is critical to pushing for structural changes toward Equity, Justice, and Thriving, Self-determined Communities.
Port Jobs
Port Jobs strengthens our communities by introducing pathways to meaningful employment and career advancement opportunities at SEA Airport. We are here to help you with job search, online job application assistance, resumes, airport ID badge test preparation, education/career advancement and more!
